Western Challenge Cup (WCC)
Hello ball hockey families,
The Greater Victoria Minor Ball Hockey Association will be sending teams to the 2024 Western Challenge Cup (WCC) tournament. The tournament is an opportunity for skilled minor ball hockey players to come together to represent GVMBHA and compete at an elite level against other minor ball hockey associations from Western Canada (BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba). The 2024 WCC Tournament will be held in Surrey, British Columbia July 10 - 13 2024.
We will be holding try-outs to evaluate the players and select our WCC teams. Vipers WCCs teams will practice during the season and then prepare fully with some weekday practices after the provincials at the end of June right through to the start of the WCC tournament.
For the upcoming 2024 WCC season, the age groups are as follows:
- U11 (Born 2013, 2014, 2015)
- U13 (Born 2011, 2012)
- U15 (Born 2009, 2010)
- U17 (Born 2007, 2008)
- U19 (Born 2005, 2006)
If you are interested in coaching or your player is interested in trying out for a Victoria Vipers WCC Team, you must register through the link below. Registration closes at noon on APRIL 28.

NO DROP-INS ALLOWED - you must register before you will be permitted on the floor. Please do not try-out if you are not committed to attending practices, exhibition games and the tournament. A substantial amount of volunteer coaching and administrative time is required to organize the teams.

COST TO TRYOUT - The cost to try-out is $20 and is payable when you register. There is no cost for further floor time as GVMBHA covers this expense. The league also covers the team tournament registration fee. Costs to families of players who are on a Vipers WCC team would include travel, accommodation, meals and clothing for the team.

WCC GUIDELINES FOR COACHES, PARENTS AND PLAYERS
The WCC is a competitive program that provides an added opportunity for players within our league to challenge themselves in competition against other associations with a commitment to team success. All interested coaches, parents and players need to review the new guidelines for this season. These guidelines were drafted by members of the RMMBHA Executive.
